I really needed a new chapter after the news I got today. I love this fic, and I've never even read or watched TGC. It's just engrossing as hell, and it doesn't even require understanding daemons or whatever to just LOVE it.

Thanks! I was aiming for this to be understandable without background knowledge of HDM.

I would love to be more coherent about the bits I loved, like sandbags keeping Sarah from tilting over, Sherlock not having deduced the death spells, the far more accurate concussion... but I can't because I'm too full of squee.

Thanks! I used this story to fill in a few plot holes from that episode...

Waaaaaant. Mooooore.
Lovely work, really, so very nicely done.
PS: Shippin these guys so hard I WANT THEM TO GET TOGETHEERR.

Thanks! And I love writing Sherlock/John UST - it's like their natural state!

I love the way that Raniel got so close to John at the hospital. For a moment there I thought Raniel was going to touch John. Oh and Raniel freaking out about the death spells. Poor Sherlock not being able to meet his brother's eyes. I am surprise he didn't start blushing; but on second thought, Sherlock has more control then that.

And now a prophecy! Yicks! It's going to be hard to wait for the next chapter.

I can see Sherlock and Raniel as the ones more willing to break with convention, with John and Amarisa following right behind them, of course, but I figure they'll need to take the first step.

Ah, the plot thickens! And Sherlock is being incredibly stupid. This is such fun!

I involuntarily screamed when i saw the post and i screamed again in anguish when i got to that marvelous cliffy. Just so you know, i love you to death for having regular updates on this story. I think i might go into withdrawal otherwise.

This world is just so full. All the little comments about deamons here and there, little observations on the street, or the more intimate or personal details John or Sherlock have add beautifully to the already magnificent world you've created and enhancing the very gradual and satisfying reveal of exposition necessary to reveal the very cunning mystery you are weaving.

Oh it's just too magnificent for words. And OH, the Sherlock and Raniel angst. It's so perfect, so in-character. And again, your impeccable attention to details. I can't fathom the imaginative processes that go through your mind that nails all the Raniel or Amarisa actions that so distinctly represent their human counterparts.

I formally proclaim my undying love for you, your magnificent brain-think, and this story. And Philip Pullman...and Jung, i guess for the whole concept of deamons.

Raniel and Amarisa for life!!

*sobs*

And John and Sherlock too, but really i think i have my favorite pairing by far already.

See what you've done to me?

Thanks! I've tried to put a lot of detail into this little world of mine so that it feels REAL, you know?

And I must admit, at this point I'm having more fun writing Amarisa/Raniel than Sherlock/John (though it's all part and parcel of the same thing, I guess...)

Another brilliant installment. I was wondering how/when you were going to fit the Mummy reveal in. Everyone's reactions felt spot on. Well, of course, Mycroft knew so he wouldn't react so much, but that in itself is right for him. But John being amused while Sherlock gets all fussy and angry was great.

I liked Sarah in this: capable and smart enough not to bother getting in the middle John and Sherlock. Even while J&S are the only ones to not realize the feelings are mutual. Presumably Nostrepheus saw it as well as Mycroft did.

I'm really loving this story.

Thanks! I figured the presence of dæmons would ensure you knew pretty quickly whether a romance was going anywhere or not...

*epic squees of delight* This is turning out awesome, and at times adding that extra thing from the show. I feel so sorry for Sherlock JUST learning all this and everyone else knowing, now GET TOGETHER! I can't wait for the next part, no matter how long it takes!

Thanks! I'm trying to be fairly regular in updates, so hopefully the next part will be out soon.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SO GOOD YOU ARE KILLING ME

one of the best presents i could get!!! thanks a lot, dear!!!!

this is great))))

I cannot believe how wonderful this story is, each chapter just keeps getting better, and pulling me further into it.

I loved the scene dealing with John and Sarah's abduction, his concussion (the way you made it so the reader feels how he's taking in information), and the hospital scene when Sarah realized that the relationship wasn't going to happen.

Finally Sherlock knows about the death spells and John knowing his mother.

So many layers, so intricate, and so worth it.

Thanks! Glad the concussion felt real to you - that was something I was a little worried about.

And I figured dæmons would be a pretty good indicator of whether a romance was going anywhere or not...

Well written, and a very deliberate plot. This story is great, and I can't wait to read more.

I discovered this story last week, and have been refreshing your lj ever since! This is an amazing story, vivid and wonderful. This post was spectacular, I've been looking forward to Sherlock realizing John knows his mother, and the death-spells so much, and this was beautifully done!

A small note- I love that you had Sarah try to tip her chair over and unable to b/c of other weights, it frustrated me to no end that she didn't try that in the show!

Thanks! In the show, it sort of implied the two guys were holding her in position at first, but then they left to chase Sherlock so I needed another reason.

Thanks! And I totally picture Raniel as convinced that Amarisa (and John) are just the most awesome beings ever!
