Brilliant! I loved Amarisa the wolf-dog, playing tame so as not to scare people when she (and John) is so very, very dangerous. Raniel, giving everyone the impression that Sherlock's a sociopath. John's surprise at being anything extraordinary. And the armored bear, yay!

Also, John's 'proof' that Sherlock is different from Moriarty - that he wouldn't risk weakening his bond with Raniel. Very nice.

I seriously just spent all afternoon/evening reading this - seriously, I am HOOKED, am I adoring this story, I really am, I can't get over how much fun it is to read, how intriguing the plot is, the characterisations, everything.

I cannot wait for an update!

I'm rereading this...

Please update soon! :D

I didn't think I even had a LJ account anymore, but I had to go find it so I could come back and tell you just how much I love this fic. I'd never been a big crossover fan until I started reading this story, and I actually managed to read it in and single night and almost miss my plane.
It's your characterisation I really love, and it's so well written and it just has so much... heart. You've created such a rich and interesting world, given the characters all this backstory (The image of John fighting alongside the armoured bears- AMAZING!) Sorry, I'm gushing, but thanks so very much for sharing your work with us.
I just need to give you hug and buy you a beer/juice/more hugs.

I am so in love with EVERYTHING YOU WRITE!!!! And this! This just makes me want to re-read HDM! IT's so brilliant and perfect and just... *HUGS!* I want more! Of this and everything else! You are phenomenal!

Brilliant! This will always be one of my absolute favorite Sherlock AUs of all time, come what may ♥ I love, love, love your characterizations--I want to cuddle everyone, John (of course) and Sherlock and Raniel and Amarisa and everyone. Love the Holmeses, John's fantastical abilities, the giggly sex (that's one of my absolute favorite types of scenes, sexual or otherwise--just that intimacy, of partners who are comfortable enough with each other to be playful and silly in bed), the portrayal of daemons as at once extensions of the characters and separate beings (as when Sherlock can't control what comes out of Raniel's mouth--John and Amarisa are much more in tune, but then again, John is the more honest and straightforward of the two), everything. I haven't even read the HDM trilogy, but you're making me want to *g*

Ahhh omg dying over here. I had to convert this to epub and put it on my nook because it's so gloriously long (it's 257pp in epub. I have "real" books on there that are shorter than that), and I finally finished it and I love it. Raniel and Amarisa are fantastic, and I quite enjoyed little references to Iorek and Lyra :D

oh this is brilliant and utterly fascinating! i'm so glad i stumbled upon it...such a riveting read... i stayed up till 2:30 am last night cuz i just wanted to read one more chapter...
thank u for sharing this story...i'll keep checking back and i will continue reading the new chapters as they come :) thank u

Back for a re-read. I actually like your take on HDM canon better than Pullman's you know? I has more emotional resonance, for me.

I adore Amarisa and Raniel, who are both perfect expressions of John and Sherlock and interesting characters in their own right. Raniel's defense of Amarisa, even though he's a tenth her size, hissing, "Now they'll hate us," at Sherlopck after the spray paint incident, and that little, "Please," when he asks John to touch him.

Amarisa's wolf-dog nature, playing tame and wagging her tail so that people aren't scared of her, snarling and deadly when protecting those she loves, is such a perfect match for the John Watson who shot the cabbie; it makes me wriggle with joy. I liked reading everyone's reactions to Amarisa when she took out the wolf daemon at the fighting ring arrest.

I enjoyed Sherlock's pleasure whenever anyone else sees and comments on how extraordinary John is, and then his fear when he sees that John can read the alethiometer, and realises what constant danger John will be in because of it.

I look forward to more chapters, if you are so inspired. Thank you for such a marvelous story!

<3

By the way, do you know of any other Sherlock, HDM crossovers? You've hooked me. :D

I love this story. Every time I check to see if there is an update to the story I end up reading it again. It is my favorite Sherlock AU. I hope that it gets updated soon.

This fic is just lovely, omg. Definitely one of the best HDM crossovers I've ever read. I hope you update soon!! :)

What an interesting story! It's a fascinating mix of both AUs and I'm absolutely in love with it. So many wonderful things! Completely love their respective Daemons, too!

I dare hope you didn't stop writing it? I know how new information in a fandom can screw with already established stories and I'm hoping really hard you haven't updated since January only because RL as been a bitch and not because your muse has left you...

This story is so good! Thank you very much. I especially liked the way you describe daemon routine in XXI cent, and the topic of daemons in crimes, like pretending an animal is your daemon, or daemon smelling the criminal etc - it is brilliant! I wonder if criminals ever tried dying their daemon's fur. Or if there are abnormal persons, who are grown yet their daemons are unsettled.
I have a couple of questions about the story. Why are the particles called after Stanislaus Grumman, not Russakov? And how do they manage in buses and subway,in fact - any crowded place, without touching someone's big daemons occasionally?
Anyway, thanks again for the beautiful time I had reading the story. Are you working on it still?
