Warnings: Violence, sex, some torture in this chapter
Summary: Written for a kinkmeme prompt: Moriarty frames John and "Anthea" of betrayals which cause both of the Holmes brothers to cut them off. Cue BAMF!John and BAMF!"Anthea" doing their best to clear their names. Both het and slash; Mycroft/Anthea and John/Sherlock.

Part Eight

Excellent chapter. I can't even begin to disguise my relief to see that John managed to kill Moriarty. :D

Now I am curious on how Mycroft and Sherlock will need to go through to gain back the trust they have easily abandon their repective partners (as I said to a friend in an e-mail after reading the chapter, "I want to see Sherlock to be dragged through that emotional bed full of nails, because you just know how much he despises to show his feelings but he knows John wouldn't settle for less than at least a crack on the mask"). However, I think am more than happy to see any reaction from both of the Holmes brother at the end of this fiasco, seeing that will have a high probability for a happier ending. :P

Sorry for the rambling. I look forward to the next installment!

Thanks! And there will definitely be some grovelling required...

I am so glad John killed Moriarty. I am also glad I was reading this in the kitchen alone because I jumped out of my seat and punched the air. Lol. And now I am very much looking forward to the grovelling. And the fear. :cackles at the Jane/John thoughts Sherlock and Mycroft must be harbouring: <3

I must admit, the only reason I made it a victory-kiss instead of a victory-hug was to mine the potential for misunderstandings...

I just knew it was Judi Dench. I JUST KNEW.

Also, John was amazing. For him to kill Moriarty in a smooth, simple manner was very fitting--I like there wasn't any epic or dramatic dialogue involved. XD

Even if the Holmes brothers felt like shit, I wouldn't forgive them just yet. xD

After I got that lovely poster with Judi Dench as Mummy I knew I had to work that comparison in somewhere...

And to me, that's how John would kill Moriarty - no last speeches, no final confrontations (that's Sherlock's style), he's just dead.

I have a question, what about Thomas Abbot, the man whose knife was found in the slaughterhouse? I know he was arrested in France, Switzerland and England and I know it lead Anthea and John to France, but it seemed he would have a bigger part in the story, since his knife was unusual and seemed intentionally left at the crime scene?

There'll be some expansion of Thomas Abbot in the next part, when Mummy's friends uncover all of Moriarty's information...

Your John continues to be my favourite interpretation of the character :D He is just so utterly brilliant. I love how matter-of-fact he is-- about going to his death, about being tortured, about killing Moriarty (SO GOOD). It's like it's all in a day's work for him.

Anthea is fab here too. So resourceful and cool. The way her relationship with John has developed is lovely. Sister-in-arms indeed!

Can't wait for the next chapter. Mycroft and Sherlock have a serious amount of grovelling to do, I think. I'm sure Mummy Holmes (who definitely looks like Judi Dench in my head, so the Casino Royale reference made me grin) will have some words...

I figured that's the way John would kill someone - no dramatic last stands or speeches, they're just dead.

And after I recieved that marvellous poster for this story with Mummy as Judi Dench, I knew I had to work that comparison in somewhere.

I literally squealed when I saw this update... which is fantastic, as always. I look forward to the next part ;)

Oh YES! God, what utter BAMFs, I can't even!
And yesyesyes, the way John killed Moriarty and that guy. Ruthless efficiency, which is clearly his chief weapon. And surprise. His chief weapons are ruthless efficiency and surprise. (And an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope? /Monty Python references)

I love Mummy Holmes' team of special forces retirees &hearts (Do you know the film "RED" by chance? If not and if you like action films as much as it seems you would, then watch it! :D)

Tortured for two hours? "It's just a flesh wound."

And yes, I have seen RED - I imagine Mummy being very much like that.

I was SO EXCITED to see this update, and even more excited that John and Anthea got out of Moriarty's clutches without another cliffhanger of doom. :) When John snapped Moriarty's neck, I broke into honest-to-goodness applause. John Watson is one of the BAMFiest BAMFs ever, but Anthea is very close behind with her cell-breaking and refusal to leave John behind. I also loved Avra Holmes.

Looking forward to the next chapter for some reunions!

I loved writing John and Anthea as kickass action heroes who basically rescued themselves.

Yeah, when John broke Moriarty's neck. That owned. I could see it clearly in my head and it was perfect. And the fallout comes next chapter, it will be lovely.

I figured that was how John would do it - no dramatic last speeches or confrontations, he's just dead.

This is awesome with a side of sparkly awesome sauce. Love it!!! Now, if the two of them snub their respective Holmes for just a bit to make them realize the true BAMFness of their partners.

Thanks! And there will definitely be some grovelling, rest assured...

It feels weird to say that this cliffie's almost worse than the last one. Because we are SO CLOSE TO THE GROVELING. OH SO VERY CLOSE.

But John and Anthea being out of danger counts for something, right?

Oh this is awesome. Just read this whole thing straight through, and it is excellent. I love BAMF!John. And snapping Moriarty's neck!! That was perfect!

Cannot wait for the part where John and Jane have so much fun tormeting thier boyfriends with this. "We will eventually forgive you, because we are possibly the most perfect people to ever exist. But not before you make it up to us. A lot."

That's pretty much exactly what's going to happen now. There's some serious grovelling in the brothers' future...

"I know you've had a difficult day,” came the soft, cultured voice containing just a hint of tension. “But I'd appreciate it if you stopped throwing sharp things at my friends.”

Ha! I knew it was friendlies coming to rescue them, that John was tossing sharp objects at. Poor poor John, but I was shocked at him just snapping Moriarty's neck (seemed like such a sudden death for our criminal mastermind). Awesome Anthea/Jane and badass!John. Then their reaction when they were outside (I wonder how Mycroft and Sherlock felt about that kiss they saw?) and the ending with Mrs. Holmes was awesome.

Basically I thought it was all awesome, LOL.

That it was sudden was kind of the point. John's not the type to mess around with dramatic confrontations or last speeches - he just killed him.

omg omg omg

can't breathe for anticipation

OMG. There are no words for how much I love this story. John and Anthea/Jane are at the very height of their BAMFness and it's been absolutely adrenaline-fuelled all the way. THANK YOU.

Is this the end? Please say it isn't--I want at least an epilogue with extremely contrite Sherlock and Mycroft!

This is certainly not the end - at the very least, there's some definite grovelling needed here...
