I picture him as just being totally unaware of how amazing he is...

I like this better than I do the original books. Thanks so much for posting.

EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! Mummy's appearing!!!!! Can't wait to see how that goes. And John, oh John. He can't really see why others would be infatuated with him can't he. Really too he's humble for words. Update soon!

Thanks! I picture John as being totally oblivious to how awesome he is...

SCREAMING. AND. FLAILING.

Oh, John, you just don't see how special you are, do you?

Also, I may or may not have made an embarassingly high pitched noise upon reading "Asriel procedure" because. Yeah. I'm a complete Asriel fangirl.

Thanks! And Asriel is the first to show off a photograph of "Dust", so really, there's nothing to say he didn't invent the procedure himself.

I did a little happy dance when John tugged on one of Sherlock's curls. I have a particular fondness for that gesture. ^_^

And I'm somewhat worried about Hasna and Caedmon's infatuation. Between your omissive comment replies (;-p) and Sherlock's mini exposition about what witches do in response to unrequited love, it seems that there may be something else coming with that.

Also, I laughed a ridiculous amount at the last line. XD

The curls just beg to be tugged, don't they?

And as you've obviously noticed, I'm keeping quiet about Hasna and Caedmon - I like my readers in suspense (I'm just cruel that way).

WHEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

New chapter! XD

I don't think I can do anything except perpetuate the broken record of 'Oh John', smile stupidly, and wonder if people like him really do exist in the world. My god Sherlock, you must have done something freaking amazing in a past life to get a man like John in this one. Don't ever let go.

Of course John outshines the sun; he's John Motherf-cking Watson, professional BAMF. Duh! <3

I love writing John as being just completely oblivious to how amazing he is...

You have me very interested now.

I wonder if the sensitivity runs both ways.

Yes, John can sense magic but it leaves him more susceptible to it too I wonder? I’m just picturing the witches trying to do something like enchant him to walk off the roof or walk in to the Thames or something?

Will Sherlock and Raniel run the numbers (because I can’t see them accepting anything Mycroft does without verifying with their own sources) and find John’s got a shocking high rate at being right at being right when diagnosing patients. That John always ‘knew’ when an infant was sicker than the parents thought and had to be hospitalized or something?

If John’s that sensitive to energy does that mean he and Risa can sense and reacts to Thunderstorms?

Ahem…

Sorry! :P

“It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data.”- Sherlock Holmes. :)

In the HDM books, we never see a witch cast a spell on a human being. They cast them on themselves and objects and can infuse herbs and potions with them, but I doubt they can 'enchant' people the way traditional fantasy witches can (though if you can contradict me on this, feel free to point it out).

And his sensitivity doesn't necessarily translate into John's career as a doctor - his sensitivity/empathy means he's good at reading emotions and dæmon behaviour, not how healthy someone is. That said though, I picture him as being good at picking patients who are about to die, if only because of the disruption of the Stanislaus particles of their dæmon...

And just to clarify - John is not sensitive to energy any more than any other person. He is sensitive to Stanislaus particles only, which (while they could probably be classified as energy from a technical physics standpoint) are entirely separate from what we'd think of as 'energy'.

Squeal! Hurray! I'm so excited you updated. And I know that in general fandom there is mix opinion on Mycroft, but i love him...and your Mycroft is awesome. I will admit I keep waiting for Amarisa to look at Tehayla and say, "So how IS a raven like a writing desk?" Just as a way to derail the brothers sniping!! I also kinda want Sherlock and Raniel to meet Roy Watson and Facilia. But basically CHEERING for anything you write, anything what-so-ever!!
Thanks!

Thanks! We probably won't see much of the Watson family in this story - I must admit, at this point I picture his parents as having passed away some time ago (four or five years, perhaps). And considering the difficulty they had with accepting Amarisa, I think John wouldn't have been in close contact with them for some time...

Every time I see that something new from you has been posted, I want to do the happy dance, I get so excited. I had to stop and read this more than once, and then I went back read chapter 9, thought about the prophecy, and than read it all again. This is so John, so like him to not realize that he is amazing and unique. I cannot wait to find what Mycroft and Sherlock will say to him. Want to see John with Sherlock's Mum (Aeliana). Just loving this story.

Thanks! I picture John as just completely oblivious to how amazing he is...

Sherlock's uncertainty about how things would be with John in the morning and John's doubt that anyone could be infatuated with him make me want to hug both of them, or better yet shove them together so they can hug each other. Thanks for another excellent chapter!

Thanks! I loved writing this fluffy little morning after.

Oh, wow. Finally got a chance to sit down and read this, and I love your development of the universe in this one--Asriel procedures and all! Great work!

Thanks! In the books, Asriel seems to have been the first to show Dust on film, so who's to say he didn't invent the process?

I am enjoying this story so much. Every time I see an update, I'm excited. Thank you!

Oh dear, marvelous John. I've always had a particular fondness for him and this just makes my heart sing. Wonderful!
