Amarisa tends to be a bit blunter than John, so of course I couldn't resist giving her that line :D

But no, this was okay, because John and Amarisa hadn't left any evidence. There'd been nothing tying them to the crimes, nothing to arouse even the slightest suspicion, which meant Sherlock and Raniel could cover up their involvement. They could take them away, could teach them how to restrain their impulses, and anyway those hostages were probably horrible people if John had done that to them – that old blind woman must have been a monster.
That was such a heartbreaking bit of rationalization.

But John Watson and Amarisa were sacrosanct. John Watson and Amarisa were not to be touched, and when Moriarty had crossed that line he'd engineered his own destruction.
Damn straight.

And of course a cliff hanger. Really it was practically required. But AAHHHHH what happens next?!?!

Brilliant as always and worth slacking for an hour in the middle of the afternoon. When I saw this I told myself I had to finish my work first so I could savor it properly. But after a couple hours I was finding it too distracting knowing it was waiting for me. I'll just work late tonight.

Thanks! My head canon is that, in those moments when Sherlock thought John was the bomber, he was fully prepared to cover it up. But then, of course, John is actually a hostage which means Moriarty is going down...

Maybe it's Mycroft!

YOU'RE BACK!!!! Happy days ^_^

I was just thinking about you the other day hoping you were doing well, it's been a rough couple of weeks in your neck of the woods.

Brilliant update, but John's not as special as we thought? Well pooh...Sherlock is always the stand out, brilliant one I was just hoping that just for once it would be John, unless(taps forefinger on chin)....it's the two of them together that fulfils the prohecy? Huh? Huh?

Anyway, wonderful as always can't wait for the next one and "Semper".

Keep safe :-)

Re: YOU'RE BACK!!!! Happy days ^_^

Thanks! As to the prophecy...I reveal nothing!

Evil cliffhanger is evil. And Moriarty touching Amarisa is greatly disturbing. I'm kinda hoping Moriarty is wrong and the prophecy is about John (or Sherlock and John together), though was he raised by a witch? Don't think so...

Yes, my cliffhangers are very evil, I'm aware :D

And the point of the prophecy is to be interpretative - I'm encouraging speculation. Moriarty doesn't think it's John, but is that because it really isn't about John or because of his own arrogance?

That bit genuinely made me shiver. This is fantastic!

Thanks! As a commenter said above - John is Good personified to Sherlock, so he can't imagine John ever doing something Not-Good.

Thanks! I was always going to put the Gyptians in this part, and I gave Marge a human dæmon because why not? And I thought it would be interesting to touch on what human dæmons mean in this universe.

Please visit the above website for my genuine reaction to the cliffhanger you just left us with. Everytime I see you've updated this, I get so excited, because it's such a good story, and the elements from HDM are weaved in so perfectly, and I don't know how I'm going to survive waiting for more.

Your Moriarty was spot on, and Sherlock's though process when he thinks John is the bomber was just heartbreaking.

Thanks! I couldn't resist writing the whole pool scene from Sherlock's POV.

I can't believe you did this! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DID THIS!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

please tell me you will invent your own ending to that pool scene, because I can't have to be waiting for two conclusions to that.

Also, damn I was kind of expecting/dreading Moriarty with daemons, because the first thing I thought was "I'm sure he will actually touch Amarisa and brrr" and you see what you did there, making me care about the well being of two-times removed fictional characters being in a situation which can in no way ever happen in real life, blub

also, great wonderful job as always managing to include all the actual dialogue and still making it work, you are by the words of one extremely cute englishman extraordinary, quite extraordinary ;)

Thanks! And rest assured, the ending to the pool scene is coming - I'm cruel with my cliffhangers, but not THAT cruel.

Just. Just. GUH!

That was beautiful, and amazing, and the UST so far is killing me, but not so much as the cliffhanger, you cruel, cruel person. That said, I love you for this.

I knew you were going to leave it like that, the way the show did *g*

I love this version of it, how we get more in Sherlock's head this time around. I notice that you didn't change that much from the show, 'cos this episode was that awesome. And from now on, I have no idea what to expect.

If we have to wait for the next episode from BBC, this will do!

Thanks! I couldn't resist writing the whole pool scene from Sherlock's POV, I just couldn't :D

The sheer LOVE for this, I can't even express. Anything that John could possibly have done, Sherlock would forgive and save him from.

WONDERFUL fic!

Thanks! And yes, that's exactly what I was going for, there - I don't think there's a whole lot John could do that Sherlock wouldn't forgive him for. Comes of having flexible morals and an almost obsessive devotion to John...

I love this story SO GODDAMN MUCH.

I can only add to the groan of agony over the cliffhanger! I did like the interactions with Moriarty - I think daemon aspect of the story made him even creepier!

Thanks! And I'm well aware my cliffhangers are evil :D
